The shop pools ingredients shared across dishes, subtracts pantry items, applies diet swaps and chooses the cheapest combination of pack sizes, then tracks leftovers back into the pantry for use-it-up suggestions. It is built with Next.js 16, TypeScript, Prisma 7, PostgreSQL 17, Tailwind 4, Docker Compose and Gemini free-tier helpers for a dish finder and recipe importer. Students learn an optimisation engine with unit and end-to-end tests, a server-only AI key design with fallbacks, and a multi-role Next.js app.
